Baseball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View lost against Palo Alto on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans fell 9-4 to the Vikings. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mountain View got a good showing from Jackson Blake, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Mountain View saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Stephenson, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those hits were Stephenson's first of the season.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Palo Alto, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season.

Mountain View will square off against Fremont at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Firebirds will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. Palo Alto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
