Softball Recap: South Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

South Central had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Culver Community Cavaliers 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Satellites, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Lexi Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maddy Cleek, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

South Central's victory bumped their record up to 17-5-1. As for Culver Community, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-10.

Looking ahead, South Central will take on North Judson-San Pierre at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Culver Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
