Basketball Game Preview: Don Bosco Cristo Rey Wolfpack vs. Washington Latin Public Charter School Lions

The Don Bosco Cristo Rey Wolfpack will take on the Washington Latin Public Charter School Lions at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Washington Latin Public Charter School took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Don Bosco Cristo Rey, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Don Bosco Cristo Rey took their matchup with ease, bagging a 61-30 victory over Field. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolfpack.

Don Bosco Cristo Rey's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Byrd-Gross, who posted 27 points, and Kamy Aviles-Martinez, who put up 26 points. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Byrd-Gross has scored at least a third of Don Bosco Cristo Rey's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Manuela Balouchi-Mesa, who scored eight points.

Meanwhile, Washington Latin Public Charter School and SEED DC squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Washington Latin Public Charter School had to settle for second. They lost 47-27 to SEED DC. Don Bosco Cristo Rey now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Washington Latin Public Charter School, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Don Bosco Cristo Rey didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Washington Latin Public Charter School in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 51-46 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Guevara, who had 20 points.
