Baseball Recap: Leo Makes It Ten in a Row on the Road

While Leo's victory against Bellmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Braves 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since April 16th.

Landon Slattery spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Leo saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kellan Hulburt, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Leo pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Bellmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Leo will face off against Garrett at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bellmont, they will square off against Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
