Volleyball Recap: Woodsboro Takes a Loss

If Woodsboro was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mathis on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles lost 3-0 to the Alice Coyotes on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled against the Coyotes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Woodsboro was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 25-14.

Alice had a senior duo take command as Bailynn Villarreal had 23 digs and Nayeli Rodriguez had 23 assists and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Krista Garza, who had ten digs and one assist.

Woodsboro's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Woodsboro will head out to challenge Incarnate Word Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Alice, they will challenge Ray at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
