Baseball Preview: Irrigon Knights vs. Central Linn Cobras
The Irrigon Knights will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Central Linn Cobras at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
Irrigon is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They lost 9-2 to St. Paul on Wednesday.
Irrigon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bennette Atkins, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Central Linn not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12, 2024. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over Camas Valley.
Jacob Helms and Colten Northern made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Helms didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Northern pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Helms scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Northern went 1-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
