Basketball Recap: Oak Harbor Comes Up Short

Oak Harbor lost against Meridian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Oak Harbor Wildcats were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to the Meridian Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while the Trojans are ranked 61st).

This is the second loss in a row for Oak Harbor and nudges their season record down to 2-11. As for Meridian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Harbor will welcome Blaine at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Oak Harbor is facing Blaine at the right time seeing as Blaine is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Meridian, they will be playing at home against Lynden at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
