Baseball Game Preview: Barnstable Red Hawks vs. Durfee Hilltoppers

The Barnstable Red Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Durfee Hilltoppers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Durfee took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Barnstable, who comes in off a win.

While Barnstable's win against Martha's Vineyard Regional wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Hawks had just enough and edged out the Vineyarders 3-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Red Hawks in their matchups with the Vineyarders: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Durfee didn't have quite enough to beat Taunton last Friday and fell 3-2. The loss put an end to the Hilltoppers' undefeated start to the season.

The win got Barnstable back to even at 3-3-1. As for Durfee, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Barnstable couldn't quite get it done against Durfee when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Red Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
