Basketball Recap: West Broward Comes Up Short

West Broward was the 55-43 winner over McArthur when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The West Broward Bobcats took a 62-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McArthur Mustangs. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why West Broward lost on Tuesday, don't look at Matthew Martinez. Despite the final result, he posted 26 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Avery Young, who scored 13 points.

McArthur's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Noel, who put up 17 points and seven rebounds. Those 17 points gave Noel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Gonzalez, who had 12 points along with seven assists and five boards.

West Broward's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for McArthur, their win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.

West Broward wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 84-46 loss against Stranahan on the 16th. As for McArthur, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-51 victory against Piper on the 16th.
