Basketball Game Preview: Scituate Spartans vs. Lincoln Lions

The Scituate Spartans will take on the Lincoln Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Scituate has seven straight wins, Lincoln has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Scituate made easy work of Cranston East and carried off a 51-29 victory. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lincoln came up short against East Greenwich on Tuesday and fell 37-29.

Despite the defeat, Lincoln saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ayah Ziani posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave Ziani a new career-high.

Scituate pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points over those games. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Scituate took their victory against Lincoln when the teams last played back in January of 2018 by a conclusive 48-26. Will Scituate repeat their success, or does Lincoln have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
