            Football Recap: Kearney Bearcats vs. Columbus Discoverers        
        
		
        
        
            Kearney got themselves on the board against Columbus on Friday, but Columbus never followed suit. They came out on top against the Discoverers by a score of  10-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bearcats also won the last time the pair played  back in October of 2024.

 Kearney didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Trey Norman and  Cole Larsen. Larsen has been hot, having also posted six or more  total tackles the last six times he's  played. Another thorn in Columbus' side was  Zach Wulf, who picked up  a  sack and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).
The  win made it two in a row for Kearney and  bumps their season record up to 5-3. Those  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 28  points in those games. As for Columbus, their defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 6-2.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kearney is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Bryan  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Columbus will  challenge  rival Millard North  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
