Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Churchland's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Churchland won the last time they faced Norcom and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Truckers blew past the Greyhounds 16-2. The Truckers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Payten Greene was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Adrianna Reynolds was another key player, firing off four doubles, three RBI, and one run while going 4-for-4.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Churchland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Churchland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Norcom, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Looking ahead, Churchland will be playing at home against Norview at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pilots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.29 runs per game on average), something the Truckers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Norcom, they will venture away from home to square off against Lakeland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
