Basketball Game Preview: Goodwell Eagles vs. Turpin Cardinals

The Goodwell Eagles will head out to square off against the Turpin Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Goodwell has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with five straight losses, while Turpin will come in with three straight wins.

Last Monday, Goodwell took a blow against Felt, falling 66-36.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Turpin took on Boise City on Monday. Turpin walked away with a 60-51 victory over Boise City. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Turpin has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Goodwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12-1.

Goodwell took a serious blow against Turpin when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 81-31. Can Goodwell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
