Volleyball Recap: Aiken's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games + How To Watch

After flying high against Midland Valley last Thursday, Aiken came back down to earth. The Fighting Green Hornets fell 3-1 to the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the War Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Aiken was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Gray Collegiate Academy work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-20, 20-25, 25-13.

Gray Collegiate Academy was led to victory by Colby Branham and Haylen Lawson. Branham had five digs and two aces, while Lawson had 17 digs and five assists. What's more, Lawson also posted a -40% hitting percentage, which is the highest she's achieved over her last five matchups.

The loss snapped Aiken's winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 17-15 record. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4.
