Softball Game Preview: Garden Grove Argonauts vs. Ocean View Seahawks

Garden Grove is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Ocean View a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Garden Grove Argonauts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Ocean View Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Garden Grove's tournament run continued when they took on Mayfair on Tuesday. The Argonauts took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monsoons.

Garden Grove saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nati Sualua-Orozco, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Ocean View started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Segerstrom. They came up short against the Jaguars on Wednesday, falling 12-1.

Kaya Collado made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Garden Grove's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Ocean View, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Garden Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Ocean View when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-5. Will the Argonauts repeat their success, or do the Seahawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
