Basketball Game Preview: Madisonville Mustangs vs. Bridge City Cardinals

The Madisonville Mustangs will square off against the Bridge City Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Madisonville was able to grind out a solid win over Center, taking the game 45-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Bridge City earned a 51-44 victory over Little Cypress-Mauriceville on Tuesday. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 410th, while the Bears are ranked 837th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bridge City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. As for Madisonville, their win bumped their record up to 23-7.
