Baseball Recap: Basha Drops Season-High Score on Sunnyslope

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Basha). They never let the Sunnyslope Vikings get on the board and left with a 9-0 win on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Basha got a great performance from David Richter as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Basha let Paxton Koch and Clayton Cooper run wild. Koch went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Cooper got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Cooper a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Chanley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Basha now has a winning record of 5-4-1. As for Sunnyslope, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Basha will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Casteel at 3:45 p.m. on April 1st. As for Sunnyslope, they will be playing at home against Pinnacle at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
