Brentwood won the last time they faced William Floyd and things went their way on Thursday too. The Indians were the clear victors by a 20-8 margin over the Colonials. The game was the first time the Indians have beaten the Colonials on their field since May 16, 2019.

Janiyah Torres was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Torres was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Caylee Jerrick was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. Lily Vittorato was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Brentwood has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10 runs thus far. As for William Floyd, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, William Floyd will venture away from home to challenge Patchogue-Medford at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Brentwood will be paying especially close attention to the Colonials' game: after the Colonials face off against Longwood, they'll take on Brentwood again at 4:00 p.m. on May 9.
