Soccer Game Preview: Homestead vs. Fort Wayne Northrop

The Homestead Spartans will square off against the Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Homestead's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last nine contests.

Homestead is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Carroll, who was ranked ninth at the time (Homestead was ranked third). The Spartans walked away with a 4-2 victory over the Chargers on Monday. The win continues a trend for Homestead in their matchups with Carroll: they've now won nine in a row.

Homestead hit Carroll with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Audrey Johnson (2), Braylee Morris, and Channing Xayarath.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fort Wayne Northrop). Their defense stepped up to hand Fort Wayne Wayne a 10-0 shutout on Saturday. Give Fort Wayne Northrop's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.
