Basketball Recap: Cheyenne Soles and Jasmine Burns Secure Win for Westover

Westover's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They skirted past the Pine Forest Trojans 29-27. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-32 back in December of 2024.

Leading Westover to victory were Jasmine Burns and Cheyenne Soles. Burns posted seven points, while Soles put up six points.

Despite the loss, Pine Forest still got an impressive performance from Jaliyah Carter, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 21 boards. The dominant performance gave Carter a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tahlia Glover, who earned four points and seven rebounds.

Westover moved to 8-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Pine Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Westover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-15 defeat against Terry Sanford on the 7th. As for Pine Forest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-40 win against Triton on the 7th.
