Yorktown is 6-1 against Alexandria-Monroe since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Cohen West looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Yorktown got a massive performance out of Henry Tokar, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave Tokar a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Perdue, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Yorktown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Alexandria-Monroe and Blackford meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Tigers never let the Bruins get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Alexandria-Monroe also got a great performance from Griffin Cox as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Trevor Martin and Mason Fuller did most of the damage at the plate: Martin went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI, while Fuller went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Alexandria-Monroe is undefeated when Fuller posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Adrian Smith was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Yorktown now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Alexandria-Monroe, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
