Football Recap: Long Island Lutheran Takes a Loss

Long Island Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 28-14 fall against the Pennington Red Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 128th in New York, while the Red Hawks are ranked 46th in New Jersey).

Peyton Robinson threw for 94 yards on six of 12 attempts. Kameron Roy was his top target, picking up 52 receiving yards. On the ground, Xavier O'Brady rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns.

Long Island Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Pennington, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Long Island Lutheran didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 26-21 defeat against St. Luke's on the 25th. As for Pennington, they have also already played their next game, a 36-6 victory against Peddie on the 25th.
