Soccer Game Preview: Giles vs. Fort Chiswell

The Giles Spartans will challenge the Fort Chiswell Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Giles fell victim to Glenvar and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Highlanders, falling 8-0. The loss continues a trend for Giles in their meetings with Glenvar: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Fort Chiswell has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They and Galax finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Monday.

Giles now has a losing record of 3-4. Fort Chiswell's draw makes their record 0-4-2 this season.

Giles took their victory against Fort Chiswell when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
