Soccer Game Preview: Russellville vs. Priceville

Russellville is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will look to defend their home pitch against the Priceville Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Russellville has given up an average of 4.7 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Monday just wasn't the day for Russellville's offense. They lost 10-0 to Hartselle on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Golden Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Tigers are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Priceville). Their defense stepped up to hand Lawrence County a 10-0 shutout on Monday. It was an even better day for Ellie Garrison as she scored three goals for her team.

This is the second loss in a row for Russellville and nudges their season record down to 1-6. As for Priceville, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-5-1.
