Baseball Game Preview: Roaring Fork Rams vs. Rifle Bears

Roaring Fork hasn't had much luck against Rifle recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Bears at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Roaring Fork couldn't beat Gunnison on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Rams lost 12-6 to the Cowboys. The Rams just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, Rifle might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Basalt who claimed the real prize. The Bears came up short against the Longhorns, falling 11-1. The Bears' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Rifle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baden Phillips, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Roaring Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Rifle, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Roaring Fork suffered a grim 12-0 defeat to Rifle when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
