Volleyball Recap: Mahopac Comes Up Short

After flying high against Peekskill two weeks ago, Mahopac came back down to earth. The Wolf Pac took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rye Garnets on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolf Pac of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Rye scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 24-26, 25-23, 25-23.

Taylor AnnviTiello paced Mahopac's offense, picking up ten kills. Annvitiello got some help from Isabella DeChico and her 19 assists.

Mahopac's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Rye, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Mahopac didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Yorktown on the 30th. As for Rye, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Ardsley on the 30th.
