Glenbard East has gone a perfect 10-0 against Elgin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Maroons at 4:30 p.m. Glenbard East is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Glenbard East beat Elmwood Park 9-5. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.
Collin LaCount was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other pitching news, Thomas Lynch looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
Back at the plate, Jackson Turco was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Tyler Hampton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Glenbard East hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elmwood Park struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 10-1 to Bartlett.
Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Glenbard East, their record now sits at 14-9-1.
Glenbard East's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Rams have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Elgin, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Glenbard East continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Glenbard East's way against Elgin in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Glenbard East made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
