The Hibriten Panthers will head out to face off against the Robinson Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hibriten is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season.
Hibriten is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against East Lincoln by a score of 61-49. The Panthers have beaten the Mustangs the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mustangs has come to flipping the script.
Aamori Patterson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6-for-10 en route to 22 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hibriten's points. Karlee Starnes was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.
Meanwhile, Robinson entered their tilt with Central Davidson on Tuesday with 15 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 16. They walked away with a 51-38 victory over the Spartans. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 44-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans cut but never quite recovered from.
Hibriten better focus on containing Camri Hobbs and Destiny Chambers as the pair were huge in Robinson's win. Hobbs went 5-for-8 to rack up 17 points and six rebounds, while Chambers almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. Hobbs is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 46% in the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Charlene McNeil, who posted eight points.
Robinson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.
Robinson pushed their record up to 24-4 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points over those games. As for Hibriten, their record now sits at 14-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Hibriten has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Robinson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.3 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
