Football Recap: Cheyenne Desert Shields vs. Eldorado Firehawks
Friday just wasn't the day for Cheyenne's offense. They had to suffer through a 28-0 loss at the hands of the Eldorado Firehawks. The Desert Shields were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Firehawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2019.
Eldorado got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Izyiah Rivera-Kyle out in front who picked up 93 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Rivera-Kyle showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 50 yards. Greyson Howard was another key player, having thrown for 263 yards and three touchdowns.
This is the second loss in a row for Cheyenne and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Eldorado, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cheyenne will challenge rival Sunrise Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Eldorado is set to square off against their familiar foe Silverado at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
