Harlingen came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 54-45 win over the Los Fresnos Falcons. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Falcons are ranked 676th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harlingen found their leader in sophomore Sarah Sanusi, who went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Lola Tamez, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Harlingen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive matchups.

Harlingen has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Los Fresnos, they now have a losing record at 13-14.

Harlingen wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-48 victory against San Benito on the 17th. Los Fresnos has also already played their next matchup (against Hanna), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
