Basketball Recap: Brentwood Makes It 12 in a Row at Home

Brentwood's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans as the Brentwood War Eagles made off with a 58-38 win. The War Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Bailey Barron continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. She also posted six blocks, which is notable because Brentwood is undefeated when she posts at least three blocks, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Rizner, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds.

Brentwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edmund Burke Academy only racked up four assists.

When it comes to explaining why Edmund Burke Academy lost, don't look at Leila Eastmead. Despite the final result, she earned 23 points along with six boards and four steals. That was a full 60.5% of Edmund Burke Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Palmer, who had nine points and seven rebounds.
