After only 27 points in their last game, Hidalgo Early College made sure to put some points up on the board against STX on Saturday. The Pirates walked away with a 62-54 victory over the Saints. The Pirates' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why STX lost, don't look at Guillermo Moreno. Despite the final result, he shot 53% from the field to rack up 23 points. Moreno continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Caedmon Williams also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Hidalgo Early College's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for STX, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-2.

Coming up, Hidalgo Early College will welcome Roma at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for STX, they will head out to take on South Texas Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 1.
