Volleyball Recap: Hoover Vikings vs. Jackson Polar Bears

After flying high against Green last Thursday, Hoover came back down to earth. The Vikings fell 3-1 to the Jackson Polar Bears on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Polar Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 9th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-13, 23-25, 25-17.

Rachel Jankowski paced Hoover's offense, picking up 21 kills. Jankowski got some help from Claire Jurica and her 39 assists. Jurica also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Mallory Stutzman, each putting up three.

Jackson found their leader in sophomore Maren Evanto, who had 14 digs. Haley Thompson also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

With the defeat, Hoover broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 13-4. As for Jackson, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
