Clayton and Corinth Holders are an even 4-4-2 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Comets are taking a road trip to take on the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clayton will be strutting in after a win while Corinth Holders will be coming in after a defeat.

Clayton took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Cleveland, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Comets had just enough and edged out the Rams 1-0. Clayton wouldn't have won without Rylee Williford, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Corinth Holders didn't have quite enough to beat Willow Spring on Tuesday and fell 3-2. That's two games in a row now that Corinth Holders have lost by just one goal.

Clayton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those five matchups. As for Corinth Holders, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4-3.

Clayton might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Corinth Holders when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Comets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
