Softball Game Preview: Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors vs. Campbell County Cougars

The Christian Academy of Knoxville Warriors are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Campbell County Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Christian Academy of Knoxville can't be to happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Saturday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sevier County.

Ella Borbeck made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Halle Bedwell, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Campbell County had just enough and edged out Sevier County 8-6 on Saturday.

Keira Bierdemann made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Bierdemann was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lakin Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two).

Everything went Christian Academy of Knoxville's way against Campbell County in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, as Christian Academy of Knoxville made off with an 18-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Christian Academy of Knoxville since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
