Basketball Game Preview: New Richmond Tigers vs. Hudson Raiders

New Richmond is 1-7 against Hudson since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The New Richmond Tigers will head out to take on the Hudson Raiders at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

New Richmond is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They fell 72-60 to Menomonie. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Mustangs are ranked 77th).

Meanwhile, Hudson was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Superior 75-42. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Hudson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for New Richmond, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

New Richmond suffered a grim 62-36 defeat to Hudson in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can New Richmond avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
