Baseball Game Preview: Sheffield Knights vs. Freedom Prep Academy Eagles

The Sheffield Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Freedom Prep Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Sheffield has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 14.

Overton hit Sheffield with a six-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights lost 13-5 to the Wolverines.

Kamauri Whitley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his four plate appearances with six stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Freedom Prep Academy posted their closest victory since May 2, 2024 last Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Raleigh-Egypt a 2-0 shutout. The two-run effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The win made it two in a row for Freedom Prep Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Sheffield, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11-1.
