Trinity extended their home winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Avalynn Johnson. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Providence Grove Patriots on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2 for which the team can thank Johnson, who had 17 digs and three aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 44 times she's played.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Trinity who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-19, 18-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-7.

Trinity was led to victory by Charlee Phillips and Katelyn Hill. Phillips had 15 digs and four assists, while Hill had ten digs and two assists. That's the most assists Hill has posted over her last two contests.

Trinity was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive matches.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Callie Hodges, who had 28 digs. Another player making a difference was Cailyn York, who had five digs and five aces.

Trinity's record is now 9-10. As for Providence Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Trinity has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Thomasville on the 2nd. As for Providence Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Asheboro on the 1st.
