Baseball Recap: Clewiston Takes a Loss

Clewiston suffered their closest loss since April 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Sebring Blue Streaks by a score of 4-2. The Tigers have struggled against the Blue Streaks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Cayson Holman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Holman wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Graysen Redish, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Clewiston's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Sebring, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Clewiston will venture away from home to take on Aubrey Rogers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sebring, they will square off against Hardee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
