Basketball Game Preview: Lehigh Lightning vs. Riverview Sarasota Rams

The Lehigh Lightning will face off against the Riverview Sarasota Rams on Wednesday. One thing working in Lehigh's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten matches.

Last Friday, Lehigh strolled past Fort Myers with points to spare, taking the game 72-58. Given the Lightning's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Green Wave are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Riverview Sarasota beat Sarasota Christian 70-60 on Friday.

Lehigh better focus on containing Cole Coggin and Josh Harris as the pair were huge in Riverview Sarasota's win. Coggin went 7 of 13 en route to 24 points in addition to six assists and three steals, while Harris went 10 for 20 on his way to 28 points. Those 24 points gave Coggin a new career-high. Ryan Farris was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Riverview Sarasota is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Lehigh, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3.

Lehigh came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverview Sarasota in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 49-47. Will Lehigh repeat their success, or does Riverview Sarasota have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
