The Pisgah Bears will challenge the Franklin Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pisgah's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past North Henderson 16-0.
Marrin Edmonds made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Edmonds was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
In other pitching news, Angeli Martinez looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Alexis Markos was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Pisgah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Henderson only posted an OBP of .263.
Franklin came out on top against Madison on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run third inning. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Patriots. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Like Pisgah, Franklin also got a great game from a two-way player: Suzanna Cabe. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cabe has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Awtrey, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Ashlyn McConnell was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Franklin's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Pisgah, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pisgah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Franklin struggles in that department as they've averaged .351. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pisgah came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklin in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
