Football Recap: North Gaston Wildcats vs. East Gaston Warriors
North Gaston took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They took down the East Gaston Warriors 24-7. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 29-14 defeat the last time these two teams met.
North Gaston had a senior duo take command as Dewayne Davis gained 99 total yards and two touchdowns and Isaiah Ewing rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns.
North Gaston's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 11 times. The heavy lifting was done by Michael Nix and Seth McGaha who racked up four sacks between them.
North Gaston will head out to face off against Bessemer City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Gaston, they will challenge Catawba Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Catawba Ridge focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday.
