Soccer Game Preview: Tonopah Valley vs. River Valley

The Tonopah Valley Phoenix will challenge the River Valley Dust Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tonopah Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 12 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tonopah Valley fell victim to Kingman and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 5-0 to the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, River Valley made sure to put some goals up on the board against Odyssey Institute on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Minotaur with a sharp 6-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Dust Devils, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

River Valley is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those five matchups. As for Tonopah Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
