Football Game Preview: Warren Warriors vs. Fort Frye Cadets

The Warren Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Fort Frye Cadets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warren will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Warren turned things around against Point Pleasant on Friday. They walked away with a 35-24 win over the Big Blacks. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Tanner Pepper had a dynamite game, picking up 147 receiving yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 116 yards and one score on only 12 carries. That's the most receiving touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Declan Johnson, who threw for 345 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Fort Frye over Marietta in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Cadets blew the Tigers out of the water with a 35-0 final score. The result was nothing new for the Cadets, who have now won six games by 24 points or more so far this season.

Warren's record now sits at 2-6. As for Fort Frye, their record is now 6-1.

Everything went Warren's way against Fort Frye in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Warren made off with a 28-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
