Basketball Game Preview: Mound-Westonka White Hawks vs. Watertown-Mayer Royals

The Mound-Westonka White Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Watertown-Mayer Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mound-Westonka will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

While Mound-Westonka didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 49-36 win over Two Rivers on Saturday. The 49-point effort marked the White Hawks' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Watertown-Mayer posted their biggest victory since December 29, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Sibley East, posting a 67-39 win.

Watertown-Mayer's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for Mound-Westonka, their record now sits at 5-0.

Mound-Westonka came up short against Watertown-Mayer in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 56-48. Can Mound-Westonka avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
