Football Recap: Cheltenham Takes a Loss

Cheltenham extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were outmatched by the Souderton Indians and fell 35-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

Kendall Jackson threw for 37 yards on six of 17 attempts.

As for Souderton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Cheltenham is ranked 131st).

Leading Souderton to victory were Jared Higginbotham and Nate Rusike. Higginbotham rushed for 126 yards and one score while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, while Rusike rushed for 39 yards and one touchdown.

Cheltenham wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 51-12 win against Council Rock North on the 3rd. As for Souderton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 56-13 victory against Bensalem on the 3rd.
