Soccer Recap: Pioneer Victorious

After low-scoring totals in their previous five contest, Pioneer brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Salamanca Warriors on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Pioneer's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Pioneer's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Salamanca, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pioneer will square off against Bishop Timon-St. Jude at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pioneer will be up against Bishop Timon-St. Jude's rather soft defense (which has allowed six goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Salamanca, they are taking a road trip to take on Randolph at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give Salamanca their first taste of in-conference action this season.
