Basketball Game Preview: Hilmar Yellowjackets vs. Livingston Wolves

Hilmar is 2-8 against Livingston since June of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Hilmar Yellowjackets will challenge the Livingston Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Hilmar has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Hilmar took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took down Orestimba 63-48. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Yellowjackets as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Hilmar's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Juelle Lindo, who went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points, and Aaron Solorio, who went 6 of 13 en route to 12 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Lindo a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Cohen Felber, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Hilmar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Livingston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-51 heartbreaker at the hands of Lathrop.

Hilmar's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-13. As for Livingston, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Hilmar came up short against Livingston when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 74-66. Can Hilmar avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
