Lanham Christian had a senior duo take command as Naz Joy almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards and Dominic Carr dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Joy has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamar Payen, who posted 11 points and eight boards.
Lanham Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 15 consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calverton). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat International High School at Largo 91-17. The win was a breath of fresh air for Calverton as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Calverton's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Lanham Christian, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.
