Softball Recap: Miles Comes Up Short

Miles fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Christoval on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Christoval Cougars by a score of 5-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Allyson Matheny made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Laci Petrey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Miles' loss dropped their record down to 4-11-1. As for Christoval, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Christoval beat Miles by a score of 5-4 later that day.
